First time doing anything electrical in the house. I've turned off the breaker, used a proximity circuit tester to make sure it's not live. When I removed the old switch, it only has two leads - black and white. The new timer has black, white, red, green, and remote. I know I can safely ignore the remote; it even says so right on the wire. The green (ground) is going to be a bit tricky because the copper line runs tightly against the back of the switch box, but again, this isn't the issue.

I just don't know what to do w/ the red 'load' wire on the switch - does that go to hot, or to the other wire? Since I really only have black and white coming out, where does 'red' go?
